MStar and SERAPHIC showcase HbbTV 2 enabled STB chipsets at CCBN 2017

CCBN, Beijing – 23rd, 2017 – MStar, the largest chipset vendor for video processing and a leading semiconductor company for display and digital home solutions, and SERAPHIC, a superb digital TV browser and “TV+ Internet” solution provider, together delivered HbbTV 2 demo on its latest STB(“set-top boxes”) chipset platforms at CCBN 2017, the largest broadcasting technology and equipment exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region.
The industry has witnessed a growing list of countries adopting the HbbTV standard, including the UK, Italy, the Nordics and Spain. By deploying HbbTV 2, the device manufacturers could bring new functionality to HbbTV terminals and enable features including enhanced dynamic ad insertion, improved accessibility, seamless cross-device viewing and standardized Ultra HD delivery with HEVC, etc.
SERAPHIC’s HbbTV solution, based on its leading Sraf® HTML5 Browser, is pre-integrated with MStar’s STB SoCs, therefore STB manufacturers can launch competitive products benefited from the latest advanced HbbTV features and shorter time-to-market in a wide range of countries and regions where HbbTV has become the mandatory requirement.
