BroadcastAsia 2017: SERAPHIC launches Sraf® Lite HTML5 browser, based on MStar’s latest STB chipsets

BroadcastAsia2017, Singapore– May 24, 2017 –At BroadcastAsia2017, Asia’s largest broadcasting exhibition, SERAPHIC, a digital TV browser and “TV+ Internet” solutions provider, launched a brand new lightweight HTML5 TV browser, Sraf Lite browser on the latest set-top box (“STB”) chipsets of MStar Semiconductor, the leading video chipset vendor in the world.
Sraf Lite browser is highly optimized for digital TV (“DTV”) and STB products and capable to run with quite low DDR memory configuration at very small footprint size. By leveraging the powerful GPU on Mstar K6/K6L chipsets, Sraf Lite browser aims to maximize the hardware computation to provide the leading WebGL, Web Animation and other cutting edge HTML5 technologies to the industry.
Sraf Lite browser also leverages the latest HTML5 features such as MSE (Media Source Extensions) and EME (Encrypted Media Extensions) to support modern web applications, for example, YouTube TV application required by the correspondent certification program, etc. Meanwhile, Sraf Lite browser supports various kinds of adaptive streaming protocols, e.g. HLS, MMS, MPEG DASH, etc., and provides a PC emulator to enable content providers to easily develop web-based VOD applications in a very short time manner.
