It aims at helping pay TV operators to minimalize CAPEX, get back to control on revenue via customized and branded user experience (UX) in emerging markets.

In a world where viewing behaviors are changing, to deploy pay TV service with OTT, CAPEX is a sensitive matter especially in emerging markets for pay TV operators.

Sraf Mobi HbbTV+ solution comes into being as a fully-integrated cross-platform choice for pay TV operators, for whom the process of porting third-party applications to run on a set-top box has always been complicated and expensive. This innovative solution works well on zapper STBs and therefore pay TV operators are able to keep old subscribers onboard and appeal to new subscribers with reduced cost.

Sraf Mobi HbbTV+ turns smartphone into ‘TV connected device’, kind-of CPE to help operators to optimize and complement their consumer reach. It leverages the CPUs, GPUs & connectivity of smartphone and bridge rich OTT contents onto the big screen via low cost STBs. In this case, subscribers can easily access their favorable HbbTV/OpApp applications and other OTT contents directly on the smartphones with HTML5, HbbTV 2 and OpApp capabilities provided by Sraf HbbTV Android SDK.

Meanwhile, Sraf Mobi HbbTV+ supports the same security level DRM (Digital Rights Management) as the on-device HbbTV solution, which helps operators to enable premium VODs to make additional revenue. It limits the illegal propagation of copyrighted works and ensure their digital content is only used by those who have paid for it.

For ODMs who have partnered with SERAPHIC, Sraf Mobi HbbTV+ also allows them to reuse product framework and merge new features with less integration efforts by leveraging the similar architecture of Sraf HbbTV solution.
