OpApp trend is coming! Arçelik chooses SERAPHIC OpApp solution to enable leading major operator service on its smart TVs in Germany market

OpApp, based on HbbTV 2, enables operators to provide a common set of services and a consistent, branded experience across a range of smart TV devices. It gives operators back control over revenue growth and return on investment.

The OpApp age is soon turning into a reality. Recently, Grundig’s mother company Arçelik announced to select SERAPHIC as its OpApp solution provider for Grundig smart TVs, which will go to the market by the end of 2018.

As the default HbbTV solution provider, SERAPHIC’s HbbTV solution has been widely deployed on mainstream DTV chipset platforms with market-proven success. SERAPHIC is among the pioneers to provide OpApp solution for commercial use. Its OpApp solution is leveraging the mature Sraf HbbTV architecture and deployment experience so that customers can develop OpApp enabled STBs and smart TVs in a very short time. It is implemented and validated to be compliant with official specification and test cases released by HbbTV association via the commercial test harness. SERAPHIC has been contributing to OpApp namely with specifications and test assertions since very early stage, to meet pay TV operator’s requirement.
